London Textile Month Talk: Catherine-Marie Longtin

23/09/2026 6:00 pm | Batsford Gallery, 266 Hackney Rd, London, E2 7SJ
As part of London Textile Month curated by Selvedge Magazine, join Catherine-Marie Longtin for an evening in conversation celebrating the publication of her new book ‘Log Cabin Quilt Blocks: 100 Colour and Pattern Variations’ published by Batsford. Taking place alongside her exhibition at the Batsford Gallery, the talk explores the enduring appeal of the log cabin quilt block and the remarkable creative possibilities contained within one of quilting’s most recognisable structures.

The log cabin block has been one of the foundations of patchwork quilting for over a century anda half. From the key idea – strips of fabric (the logs) sewn around a central square – it lends itself to almost countless variations.
