Next on our mini ‘Women, Walking’ takeover, we’re hearing from artist and author @beatrice.searle whose essay weaves together the ancient history of Northumberland’s coastal rocks with the memories of her own family, exploring how walking can reconcile past and present, trauma and healing and the gap between generations.

HAPPY PUBLICATION DAY to ‘Women, Walking’! On today’s big day, we’re hearing from writer Polly Atkin @pollyrowena whose essay unveils an alternative narrative of walking, where disability and chronic illness are not overwritten by stories of recovery and adventure, but are instead allowed to co-exist.

Polly also runs the Grasmere bookshop @samreadbookseller, where some exciting events for the book are being planned for later this year!
