Aurel Hrabušický is a curator of the Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Slovak National Gallery. He specialises in visual art in Slovakia in the 20th and 21st centuries, with a particular focus on conceptual and alternative art in Slovakia in the 1960s and 1980s, and on photography and photographic documentaries of recent decades. He curated the first exhibition of Stano Filko’s work at the Slovak National Gallery (1993) and is the author of the first major overview of Filko’s work, The Avant-gardist by Trade. A reflection on the Work of Stano Filko (1994).
