As his first monograph showcase, this vividly illustrated volume accompanies an exhibition at the Currier Museum in Manchester, New Hampshire. It situates Mar’s practice within the history of artists who engaged with ephemera and found objects, from European Surrealists such as Hannah Höch and Max Ernst to Post-War personal archivists such as Jess, Betye Saar, and Joseph Cornell.

The book also examines

Mar’s distinctive approach to world-building through accumulation, theatricality, and transformation.
